REEDS is a voluntary not-for-profit organization, established in 1989 as a Society. REEDS is registered under Section 12A (a) of the Income Tax Act, 1961 and Section 6(1) of Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act, 1976. REEDS is committed to contributing to the socio-economic progress of rural landscapes with interventions targeted towards sustainability and inclusive growth.
With multi-state operations, REEDS is actively engaged in promoting the quality of life of rural communities and involved in implementing programs relating to various spheres of rural life. REEDS operations span across 13 states - Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Manipur, Odisha, Tamilnadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
REEDS have an experienced and high profiled management team that guides towards its organizational goals. An Advisory Council comprising eminent persons in their respective fields and believe in REEDS philosophy extend their advice and guidance in REEDS activities.
REEDS is proud to have significant honours in its rural empowerment pursuit: India Today Safaigiri 'Water Warrior' Award 2016; Government of Andhra Pradesh 'Letter of Appreciation' 2009; and ‘Gramodaya Bandhu Mitra Puraskar’ Award 2020.
