My Journey with REEDS | A Decade of Rural Impact
It has been a truly enriching journey being part of REEDS (Rural Economic and Educational Development Society). Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to work on impactful rural development initiatives across India:
Awareness Campaign on Toilet Usage and Handwashing (2006–2008):
Led awareness programs on toilet use and handwashing in 2,500+ schools in
AP and Telangana, supported by UNICEF.
Nirmal Gram Puraskar (2008–2010):
Served as the Team Coordinator for promoting sanitation in rural areas, helping several panchayat villages across 12 districts in states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu to earn the prestigious Nirmal Gram Puraskar from the Government of India (GOI).
Sustainability Verification (2010–2012):
Evaluated Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC), Swajaldhara (DWSC), and Rural Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation (RDWS&S) schemes, focusing on evaluating and ensuring sustainability across multiple regions.
Water Solutions (2013):
Promoted rainwater harvesting and mobile drinking water systems in tribal regions.
National Level Monitoring (2014–2024):
Led evaluation of Ministry of Rural Development schemes across 16 states.
This journey has taken me to the heart of rural India, from remote villages to tribal belts, where I experienced deep culture, warmth, and resilience.
